Career Clarity Newsletter - June Edition

Small shifts for a better workday (and a better summer) ☀️

Happy June!

June often brings a shift in energy. The days are longer, the pace starts to change, and summer finally feels within reach.

This is also a good moment to pause and ask: does your work life actually feel good to live in — not just productive, but energizing and sustainable?

Because too often, we focus on getting more done and spend less time thinking about how we want our work and lives to feel.

The truth is, meaningful careers aren’t just built on what we get done. They’re built in how our days actually feel while we’re living them.

If that resonates, this edition is for you.

And if you'd like to continue the conversation on work-life balance beyond this newsletter, there are still a few spots available in my complimentary summer group coaching sessions. If you're curious, you can learn more and sign up here.

Career Reset Bingo Card

My Career Reset Bingo Card is a simple way to experiment with small shifts that can make work and life feel more enjoyable, energizing, and balanced.

Inside, you'll find a mix of career, well-being, joy, and connection ideas — 25 small actions designed to help you step out of autopilot and reconnect with what matters most.

For example, this week, you might:
• Take a real lunch break away from your desk
• Read something purely for pleasure
• Thank someone who has supported you
• Identify one thing you want to stop tolerating at work

The goal isn't to complete every square. It's simply to notice what energizes you — and make a little more room for it.

I'd love to hear which square you're most excited to tackle.

2 | SPOTLIGHT 💬

Success is Meant to Feel Good Too

Many high-achieving women spend years focused on what's next — the next promotion, opportunity, or goal.

And while there's nothing wrong with wanting success, we can easily slip into the habit of postponing enjoyment until "later." But "later" has a way of staying just out of reach.

A fulfilling career isn't built on achievement alone. It's also built in the everyday experience of actually living it.

June is a good moment to check in with yourself:

Reflect
What parts of my work and life are energizing me right now?

Notice
What have I been putting off because it feels unproductive, "extra", or indulgent?

Experiment
What's one small thing I can do this week to make my days feel a little more enjoyable, meaningful, or balanced?

The point isn’t to optimize everything.

It’s to make space for your days to feel better while you’re still building what comes next.

How to Stop Work From Taking Over Your Life

The Happiness Lab

For many high achievers, the workday doesn't end when we log off. Unfinished conversations, looming deadlines, and mental to-do lists often follow us well into the evening.

In this episode, Dr. Laurie Santos speaks with psychologist Guy Winch about why it's so difficult to mentally disconnect from work — and why recovery is essential, not optional.

A few insights that stood out:

• Create an intentional end to your workday. Small rituals — like writing tomorrow’s priorities, shutting down your workspace, or changing environments — can help signal that work is done.

• Be intentional with downtime. Recovery doesn’t always require more time, but it does require more awareness of how you’re using the time you already have.

• Choose activities that fully pull your attention. Time outdoors, creative hobbies, movement, or meaningful connection all help create space where work isn’t competing for your focus.

The reminder worth holding onto: rest and enjoyment aren't rewards for productivity. They're part of what makes productivity possible.

4 | COACHING REFLECTION 🤔

Make Room For Joy on Purpose

Many of us are excellent at keeping commitments to other people.

We meet deadlines.
We follow through on responsibilities.

But the things that help us feel energized, connected, and fully ourselves often get treated as optional.

This week, try something a little different:

• Ask yourself: Is there room on my calendar for the things that make life feel good?
• Schedule one thing that brings you joy and protect it the way you would an important meeting.
• Notice what leaves you feeling more energized, present, or connected — and look for ways to make more space for it.

The goal isn’t to earn rest after everything is done. It’s to build a work life that doesn’t require you to constantly recover from it.

5 | LET'S STAY CONNECTED! ☕

If you're entering the second half of the year looking for more clarity, balance, or intention in your career, I'd love to be a thinking partner for you.

I offer free discovery sessions — a space to talk through where you are, what feels challenging right now, and what kind of support may help you.

Here's to making space for what energizes you, embracing more moments of joy, and building a career that feels as good on the inside as it looks from the outside.
